The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo may be over, but the memories of the past three weeks are still fresh on my mind. I made the most of the biggest Rodeo on earth and I hope y’all did too. If you’re like me, this Rodeo season you ate a lot of traditional fair food (although I could never find that bacon cotton candy I heard so much about), checked out the livestock, enjoyed the carnival and even attended a few concerts.
As per tradition, Goode Company had a food booth in the concessions section of the Rodeo, which is always a great experience. I love being able to share my family’s barbeque with thousands of folks every year at this event the way we’ve been doing it for more than 35 years.
This year, some of the Goode Company team got an inside look into the Rodeo because one of our employees, Rachel, was very involved in what seemed to be every aspect of the three-week extravaganza. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, she got to take part in the famous trail ride. Not to mention, Rachel met the talented Bruno Mars and even Bull Rider Dalton “Boss” Votaw. Check out her pictures below to see her adventures during Grand Entry.
I have to admit, I’m already missin’ the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. I love the excitement and the feeling of the old West it brings to the city. Only one more year until the 2014 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo – but who’s counting?
