A Goode Thanksgiving

We’re so thankful for the thousands of customers that have become a part of the Goode Company family. Since Thanksgiving is about giving thanks and spending time around the dinner table with friends and family, we’re sharing our tips for a Goode Thanksgiving feast!

‘Tis the Season for Turkey
If you’re having a Thanksgiving dinner in Texas, you better be serving a mesquite smoked bird. We age our turkeys in an old-fashioned cure before we slow smoke them over mesquite ambers. The result: a turkey so succulent even the fowl-mouthed are left speechless! If you’re planning on smoking, frying or baking a turkey this year, make sure you season it with our signature Fowl Rub.

A Salute to the Sides
Thanksgiving is more than just the bird. Our Thanksgiving table is not complete without some Jalapeño Cheese Bread Dressing, homemade Green Bean Casserole and Mashed Sweet Potato Casserole. Straight from our favorite cowboy’s cookbook, all three of these recipes are Levi Goode classics. Enjoy!

A Goode Ending
Last, but certainly not least, our Thanksgiving meal cannot finish without our Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie on the table. Chocked full of fresh Texas pecans that we’ve harvested from the banks of the Brazos River and made with farm fresh eggs every morning, this pie is the perfect ending to your holiday meal (or any meal, if you ask us).

Cooking up a Thanksgiving feast isn’t a task for the faint at heart.  If you’re not up to cooking this year, you can order a turkey online or pick one up from one of our BBQ locations at our annual Turkey and Pie Booths. The Goode Company Pie and Turkey Booths will be held at all three of our BBQ locations from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on November 26 and 27, the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving. You can pick up Mesquite Smoked Turkeys (must pre-order all birds) and Pecan and Chocolate Pies throughout the day.
