Bringin’ it home to Houston

As you know, we’ve been celebratin’ our 35th year in business here at Goode Company and what an amazing 35 years it has been. None of our success would have been possible without support from you, our loyal fans.

To celebrate all year long, we kicked off our Texas Tour back in March. Six lucky winners were selected and we sent each one of them on a weekend getaway to a city that we think shows what livin’ in Texas is all about. From our state capital, also known as the “live music capital of the world” to the Stockyards in Fort Worth, and to Antique Week in Round Top, our winners saw it all.

At the beginning of this month we chose our final winner, Miss Kathryn Clark, and invited her to come on home to Houston. Kathryn got cozy at Hotel ZaZa and enjoyed a personal cocktail tasting at Anvil Bar & Refuge. While she was in Houston she also had the chance to enjoy a tour of Saint Arnold Brewing Company and eat a lot of GOODE food, but that’s not all. Miss Clark got an exclusive invite to our 35th Anniversary Party at the one and only, Armadillo Palace.

We invited some of our closest family and friends for a party that will not soon be forgotten. Mr. Billy Joe Shaver provided the crowd live entertainment that really got everyone out of their seats and what better way to show your guests a good time than with some goode food! From the raw oyster bar, chicken and pork tamales, and a fire-roasted pig for late night pork tacos, to the fresh avocado bar and hand-passed hors d’oeuvres including bacon wrapped quail – we made sure no one went home hungry.

And trust me, no one would forget about those drinks. In addition to our normal selection of aperitifs, we debuted a brisket-infused bourbon for a Goode take on the old fashioned. Guests also sipped on fresh strawberry margaritas and watermelon-infused vodka cocktails.

Don’t think we sent folks home empty handed! We had renowned local artist Carlos Hernandez on hand to make commemorative posters screen-printed with none other than our own Goode Company Barbeque Sauce.  Our friend, Leonard from Hight Cigar was rolling cigars onsite and friends took home goode memories with pictures from our photo booth.

Goode food, Goode entertainment, Goode Company, Goode memories – that is how we chose to celebrate 35 years.
