Blue Bell, Tastes Just Like the Goode Old Days

It wouldn’t be summer in Texas without a freezer full of ice-cold treats. As the Texas heat really starts to sink in, you can bet I’ve got ice cream on my mind, and I wouldn’t be caught with anything other than the best: Blue Bell, of course.

Blue Bell Ice Cream

The famous Texas ice cream factory, formerly known as the Brenham Creamery Company, started in 1907 when local farmers decided to make butter from their excess cream. Lucky for us, it wasn’t long before the creamery started making ice cream. Blue Bell has come a long way since delivering ice cream by horse and buggy. No matter how much they grow, they are dedicated to serving the best ice cream in the country and for that, I tip my hat to them!

If you haven’t had a chance to visit the factory, be sure to put it on your summer to-do list. Take a day off and make the short drive up Hwy 290 to Brenham, TX. Trust me, it’s a trip you won’t regret. Tour the factory and get yourself a scoop of that delicious, creamy Texas treat too. Tours are offered Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a finer accompaniment to a big slice of our Goode Company famous pecan pie. Stay cool and enjoy some ice cream, folks!
